Blocks

Last week I took down Dylan's wooden blocks for the first time and he had a blast playing with them. He spent a half hour taking them in and out of their wagon, banging them together, and knocking over the towers that I built. I posted a video of him playing on Youtube... it's not that exciting, but I haven't posted video in a while and I haven't been able to get anything else really fun on video lately.

Random pictures

Psst... the book is upside down, Dylan...
Sometimes he forgets to swallow the water... or maybe it's just more fun to spit it out
Silly face I can't believe he can almost reach the door knob!
Chillin outside
At least our wine rack is getting used for something
The chair can be a push toy, apparently

Grrr!

Grr... that's what Dylan says when he looks out the window or bangs on the door to go outside (see below). I think he's trying to say "grass," but he makes "g" sounds for everything so who knows. Anyway, here are some pictures of him playing outside (and asking to go outside). I think I need to find a sun hat with a strap to keep it on his head.

Dylan and his walker

He still needs to work on speed control and steering, but Dylan is getting better at walking behind his walker (and is loving it). Click here to see a video. There have been some problems with viewing videos on the blog in the past, so hopefully the link to You Tube will work better.

I'm stuck!

Dylan the reader

Over the last few weeks Dylan has discovered that books are not just for chewing. He loves to flip through the pages and asks me (by grunting) to read his favorites again and again and again. My favorite book to read him right now is Dr. Seuss's ABCs because when we get to "G" Dylan tries to repeat "goo goo goggles.".

Why play IN the jumper...

...when you can play under and next to it?

On/off, open/close

Dylan's obsession this week is opening and closing everything he can figure out - hampers and doors mostly, and turning the bathtub faucet on and off... which means that I am spending a lot of time helping to avoid piched fingers, bumped heads, and an out of control water bill!
