Silliness

One of the best things about Dylan's age right now is that he's starting to do weird things that keep us laughing all the time. One night he snuck Cookie Monster into the freezer while I was getting food out for dinner, and now every day he brings Cookie Monster into the kitchen to try to put him back. He makes goofy faces all the time, puts everything on his feet (like his mega blocks) and will lick your cheek if you ask for a kiss.

A long overdue update

At this time last year, I was posting pictures while my tiny baby slept in my arms, but it's a whole new game now. Dylan's been keeping me running all summer (literally). Jonathan and I went to California for a much needed vacation in late July and came back to find that our little crawler (who was just taking a few steps in between his crab crawling) had turned into a sprinter during his few days with Grandma Campbell and Aunt Suzie. Check out this video of him on the go. We had a low key but fun birthday celebration. Dylan loved his cake and balloons, and is still enjoying all of his new toys. He didn't seem to love sharing all of the attention with his cousin Lena while she was here for the birthday weekend, but the rest of us had fun watching them play together. And as for the rest of the summer, we've been spending a lot of time playing outside and at the pool, Dylan had his first haircut yesterday (very traumatic experience), and feeding time is getting messier as he learns to use a spoon. There's a few pictures below and I'll try to post more soon!

Dylan walking

I caught this video of Dylan walking a couple days ago. I thought it was pretty good until yesterday he nearly made it across the entire length of his bedroom! He'll be running around the house in no time.

Summer

I swear that this morning you could see the humidity in the air... Dylan didn't seem to mind though!

Blocks

Last week I took down Dylan's wooden blocks for the first time and he had a blast playing with them. He spent a half hour taking them in and out of their wagon, banging them together, and knocking over the towers that I built. I posted a video of him playing on Youtube... it's not that exciting, but I haven't posted video in a while and I haven't been able to get anything else really fun on video lately.

Random pictures

Psst... the book is upside down, Dylan...
Sometimes he forgets to swallow the water... or maybe it's just more fun to spit it out
Silly face I can't believe he can almost reach the door knob!
Chillin outside
At least our wine rack is getting used for something
The chair can be a push toy, apparently

Grrr!

Grr... that's what Dylan says when he looks out the window or bangs on the door to go outside (see below). I think he's trying to say "grass," but he makes "g" sounds for everything so who knows. Anyway, here are some pictures of him playing outside (and asking to go outside). I think I need to find a sun hat with a strap to keep it on his head.

Dylan and his walker

He still needs to work on speed control and steering, but Dylan is getting better at walking behind his walker (and is loving it). Click here to see a video. There have been some problems with viewing videos on the blog in the past, so hopefully the link to You Tube will work better.
